Card exchange April 18

It started with this:

Then I started moving the papers around and ended up with this:

My dilemma was that I just could not pick which card I liked best so I had to test it out with people outside our exchange group, and the final card won...

Here is the inside of the card:

The cards were made using a stamp set from The Angel Company called "Be of good".

I am actually quite pleased with this card. I admit I really like black and white...

A card I sent to Melanis, just because... I was sorting my paper scraps and came across everything you see on that card... I thought it fits our friendship perfectly...

I really am working hard on getting rid of scraps... Here's the same paper as the one I used on the Mother's Day card (post below)... This card started out with the colors being reversed as shown below, but I prefer the final version...

OK, so I totally cased that card from the Spring 2009 CTMH idea book... I had been dying to do it, the only problem was that I didn't have a bird stamp. I finally bought a wood mounted one (Stampabilities company, the stamp is called Ornate Dove... isn't it gorgeous???). So here is my copycat version of it... Unlike the CTMH card, I am keeping this card without a sentiment on it, as a "just in case" card and will put a sentiment on it when/if the opportunity arises...

Kindness Pledge

Funny what you can find when you clean your computer desk... I have been looking for this piece of paper for, never mind weeks, MONTHS!!! For the love of me, when I became the Preschool lead teacher I wanted to help the children learn about kindness and incorporate this Pledge which I learned from one of my previous Preschool mentors, Jacky... I just could not remember the words for it... Well, there it is... In an effort to not lose it again, I am thinking that posting it here will keep it safe...

Challenge card due April 18th

Oops, I was so eager to get my card done while I has inspiration that I realized half way through the project that I hadn't taken a photo or scanned he items... Which is why the 2 pieces of black pattern paper are rounded and one of them was trimmed. They didn't come that way! The rest is the real deal... The additional requirement is to use only black and white, and gold and silver if we want...
The card is now finished but I won't share it until online until after the "due date." So come back to my blog on the evening of April 18th! See you then!

Damien's 16th birthday

Oh my, my baby nephew is really not a baby any more... He is turning 16 on April 2nd... The funny thing about this card is that the end result has nothing to do with the original idea... I happened to stumble across a pile of scraps, decided to challenge myself into using them no matter what... And voila! I know, it looks like a patriotic card, but that hit me only after I was in way too deep into the card...

Baby Shower card

a big thank you to all...

It's been 3 weeks since my dad passed away, and I am only now coming around to thanking everyone for their support. I honestly would not have been able to even type the first sentence of this post only a few days ago! So slowly, very slowly, but surely, I am healing the best i can. I also realized what kind of amazing love and support the people around me have sent my way. I really truly feel blessed in so many ways, I can't begin to explain and even less express it with the right words.

But anyway, THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. and I really mean that.

Sympathy cards

A blog is meant to share everything, right? The good and the bad, right? So here is a huge piece of what has come in my mail box over the past 2 weeks... Not only am I surrounded by loving people, but some of them are really talented on top of it... I have pondered over and over whether to post the hand made cards I received. I figured that if I am OK with sharing them, nobody could argue with it... And besides, it could not hurt to show the talent that has a huge healing power. Those cards really helped me and still are as I once again read every single of them a few minutes...
